10/10: First DGNB certificates for residential building
The range of DGNB certificates for specific building types continues to increase. For the first time ever, certificates and pre-certificates for buildings with the new occupancy profile "Neubau Wohnen – New Residential Buildings" have been awarded at the ExpoReal in Munich. One of the pre-certificates in silver was handed out for the project "Pariser Höfe" in the Stuttgart city quarter Europaviertel, which was developed by the Munich-based project development company Reiß & Co. Real Estate. During the certification process and the integration of the sustainability criteria, builder and investor are being assisted and advised by Dr. Thorsten Huff, makon GmbH & Co. KG, and Thilo Ebert, Ebert-Consulting Group GmbH & Co. KG.
With the introduction of the new DGNB certificate for the occupancy type “Residential”, a big step was made in regard to the possible range of distribution and the penetration of the market. Long term, sustainability will contribute to stabilize the value of the respective property.
For residential properties, the location is also essential for the decision-making procedure. At DGNB the location influences the valuation of the Location Quality criterion and positively emphasizes centrally located residential units with easy access to transportation, traffic and services. Through sustainability, "Neues Urbanes Wohnen- New Urban Living", as Jürgen Klein, managing director of Reiß & Co., describes it, a new quality of living and value for the user can be experienced. Green living in the true sense of the word in the center of Stuttgart is part of the philosophy of the master plan for the Pariser Höfe, as its twin office building is also planned to be certified based on the DGNB system. This way, living and working environments will again move closer together.
